In June, during Academic Orientation, you will be granted access to the Saint Vincent Portal (mysv.stvincent.edu). The portal is the main on-campus communication tool. It is the place where you can find out more information about what is being offered on campus and fill out the important forms you will need to complete the enrollment process. Your class schedule, financial aid information and many more important pieces of information about your experience at Saint Vincent will also be available on this page.

    Academic Orientation

Academic Orientation will be held the following days in June and divided by academic school.

Each day we will begin with registration from 8:15 - 8:55 am and it will include a continental breakfast. The morning will have sessions for parents and students together and then parents and students will have sessions on their own. Students and parents will meet for lunch. Some sessions during the day include Financial Aid, Academic Policies and Procedures, Academic Departmental Meetings and an Informational Fair will be provided for parents to talk individually with offices on campus. The day will conclude with a tour of Saint Benedict Hall and an Ice Cream Social at 3:00 pm. When you arrive on campus, please park in the Fred M. Rogers Center parking lot (Lot A). Registration and Opening activities will take place in the Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center, located at the top of the hill, right beyond the stop sign. There will be shuttles available in the parking lot. The Bookstore will also be open for your convenience.

Students are encouraged to attend on their appropriate day. If you are unable to attend, you are invited to attend on another day that week. Another make-up day will be scheduled for July and will be announced at a later date.

    Welcome Weekend

Your first weekend on campus is packed with events and meetings to help you transition to Saint Vincent easily. Beginning on Thursday, August 23, 2012, the Orientation Committee moves all of your belongings in as part of Move-In Day. We start with the very first car that pulls behind Saint Benedict and don't stop until every student is completely moved in. From there, we welcome parents and new students to join us at a welcome Mass and welcome picnic before you say your good-byes to your families. This is your first chance to meet with your prefect and the entire Orientation Committee.

Following these meetings, we have a freshman social that includes fantastic food and a bonfire outside. The fun continues throughout the weekend with a Community Service Day. This allows you to get to know your classmates while helping the local community. The weekend is filled with social events and informational sessions to prepare you for a successful transition into Saint Vincent.
