With this degree, candidates will fully meet all current Pennsylvania Department of Education early childhood requirements. With ties to the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media and the Barbara Thompson Early Literacy Center, the early childhood program is designed to prepare candidates to teach infants through fourth grade.Candidates enrolled in this degree program will greatly benefit from the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media that provides unique opportunities for research, resources, and outreach. The preschool partnership with Barbara Thompson Early Literacy Center also provides candidates with hands-on learning experiences. Candidates create an electronic portfolio that documents content knowledge and experiences. In order to graduate, candidates must also complete 14 weeks of student teaching and evaluation and pass all required praxis tests.* All methods courses have required field hours and micro-teaching experiences.
