  • Student Work and Research in Marketing

    Students will gain practical project experience within each of their marketing courses. Examples of student projects include: conducting market research focus groups and surveys on topics related to student services at the College; developing an innovative advertising campaign; designing a new retail store concept; introducing a product of interest into a global market with perceived market need and demand; creating a personal branding portfolio to “sell” the services of the student to a potential employer.
    Students complete a portfolio prior to graduation with the following submissions:

    • Business Ethics paper written in BA 104 Introduction to Management (Freshman year)
    • Updated Business Ethics paper written in BA 305 Business Ethics
    • Experiential project (e.g., internship synthesis paper, advertising and media campaign)
    • Information Systems project (e.g., MYSQL project, SAP project, statistics project(s))
    • Evidence of oral presentation (e.g., business plan on launching SAP Business One Value-Added Reseller (VAR); advertising and media campaign presentation; experimental research project presentation; special topics presentations in BA 335 Internet Marketing)
    • Term Paper (e.g., BA 265 MIS paper, BA 335 Internet Marketing paper, BA 336 Essentials of Selling paper, BA 495 Business Policy and Strategy Group project/paper)
