Director, Jazz Ensemble
Mr. Scott M. DiTullio holds a B.S. in Education (Music Education/Performance) from Clarion University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, and a K-12 Administration Certification for Principals through California University of Pennsylvania. He is currently ABD as a doctoral student, working on an Educational Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Northeastern University in Boston. Currently in his seventeenth year of teaching, Scott is the Director of Bands at the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Area School District, a position he has held since 2005. At Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School his duties have consisted of General Music, Class Guitar, Jr. High Band, Sr. High Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands, Marching Band, Jr. High Honor's Band, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Pep Band. He previously taught from 1996-2005 at the Clarion-Limestone School District as the Director of Bands for grades four through twelve.
Mr. DiTullio performs on trumpet in professional venues from Pittsburgh to Erie and as a soloist and with many jazz and dance bands. He is the founding member of the Clarion River Jazz Octet and the Clarion River Brass. He performs as a local soloist in many churches, and teaches private guitar and trumpet lessons. Scott currently serves as the district chairman for the PMEA District 3 Jazz Festival and is the past-president of PMEA District 3.
Scott resides in Clarion, PA with his wife Joyce and two children MacKenzie and Noah. In his free time he has been active with PA American Legion Baseball for the past twenty years, serves as a PIAA Baseball official, and coaches his children’s softball and baseball teams.
