Ms. Lisa Silko Spang

Lisa Silko Spang received her B.S.M.E. summa cum laude and Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Duquesne University. While completing her graduate degree, she served as graduate assistant and chorus accompanist for the Duquesne University choral ensembles. Lisa has done post-masters study in elementary education at the University of Pittsburgh and taught music at the Falk School there. In addition, she possesses an Orff teaching certification. Piano teachers have included Joseph Bronder, Louis Pollak, Carmen P. Rummo, Ken Burky, Sr. Carole Riley, and Natalie Phillips. She worked as an adjunct piano faculty member at Duquesne University for fifteen years, teaching both private and class piano and is currently an elementary music teacher in the Elizabeth Forward School District. Lisa is also an adjunct faculty member at St. Vincent College, private piano teacher, free-lance piano accompanist, and organist at St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. She has served as a clinician and piano accompanist for PMEA choral festivals. She is the mother of 2 sons and 2 daughters – Steven, David, Lauren, and Mary Beth.
