    School of Humanities and Fine Arts (HFA) Outcomes: July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013 

    • May 2013 graduate school acceptances included Binghamton University, Boston College, Bowling Green University, Chatham University, Cyril and Methodius Seminary, Duquesne University, East Stroudsburg State University, Kent State University, LaSalle University, Lehigh University, Marquette University, Northern Illinois University, St. John's University (Collegeville, MN), Saint Louis Abbey, Saint Vincent College, University of Dayton, University of Pittsburgh, Villanova University, Western Michigan University, and West Virginia University
    • Historically, HFA students have a 100% acceptance rate at law schools.  May 2013 graduates were accepted at Duquesne University Law School and the University of New Hampshire Law School.  May 2012 graduates enrolled at Northeastern University Law School and Washington and Lee University Law School.
    • HFA students traveled and studied abroad in countries including:  Brazil, China, France, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Russia, and Spain.
    • HFA students worked as interns at:  African Impact, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg Central Catholic High School, Ligonier Valley YMCA, Maritom, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, Old Fort Steuben Project, Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, Settlement Music School, Westmoreland County Historical Society, Westmoreland County Public Defenders' Office, and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art.
    • HFA student academic activities:
      • Seventy-seven students inducted into national honor societies (including English, History, Language, and Theology) and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges
      • One student was awarded the Alpha Chi National Honor Society Thelma Hall Prize in Creative Writing
      • One student was selected to participate in a Nationwide Juried Catholic Arts Competition and Exhibition hosted by SVC
      • President's Award (Saint Vincent College's highest student honor):  winner plus 4 of 5 finalists were HFA majors
      • Students were invited to present papers at the Phi Alpha Theta Conference (Morgantown, WV), the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society National Conference (Portland, OR), and the Un-Foundations Conference (Pittsburgh, PA); perform as part of the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops All-Star College Choir (Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh) and "Whispers of Light" (Byham Theater, Pittsburgh); and participate in portrait drawing projects at Mountain View Specialty Care (Greensburg, PA) and the Northwestern Human Services Autism School (Whitney, PA)
    • Outstanding and dedicated HFA teaching faculty active in scholarship:
      • Books:  6 authored, 2 translated, 1 edited, 4 forthcoming
      • Book Reviews:  20 (includes 8 forthcoming)
      • Peer-reviewed Journal Articles:  41 (includes 11 forthcoming)
