  • SVC Center for Political Thought to Present Former Congresswomen

    Saint Vincent College Center for Political and Economic Thought of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government will host a special event at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 11 featuring former Congresswomen Sue Kelly (R-NY) and Beverly Byron (D-MD). The conversation will take place in the Fred M. Rogers Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College and will be moderated by Student Government Association Executive Board President Renold Sossong. Admission is free and open to the public.

Foster at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 in the Fred M. Rogers Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College. His talk is entitled, The Trials of Congress’ Misnamed ‘Super Committee.’

    Dr. James V. Maher, professor of physics and astronomy and senior science advisor at the University of Pittsburgh, will give a talk at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 27 in the ongoing Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computing Lecture Series in the Dr. Frank J. Luparello Lecture Hall in the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion at Saint Vincent College. His topic is “Science and Religion.” Admission is free and open to the public.

    A research paper by Dr. Paul Follansbee, James F. Will Professor of Engineering Science at Saint Vincent College, entitled “Characterizing the Defect Population Introduced by Radiation Damage,” was voted “best paper” by the Nuclear and Environmental Technology Division (NETD) of The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and recognized at the 2011 Materials Science and Technology Conference at the Columbus Convention Center on October 17.
