    SVC Students to Study at Beijing Center for Chinese Studies

    Following a visit with officials in China last summer, Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B., president of Saint Vincent College, recently met on campus with Chris Tow of the Beijing Center for Chinese Studies to continue with plans to provide an opportunity for Saint Vincent students to study there.

Carey Student Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College.

  • SVC Student Theatre Company to Present 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

    The Company, Saint Vincent College’s student-run theatre group, will present Jesus Christ Superstar as its annual fall performance at 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, November 19 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 20 in the Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center at Saint Vincent. Admission is free for all performances. No reservations are required and seating is general admission. Doors will open one-half hour before each performance.

Kunkle, M.D., instructor of management and program director of management for operational excellence at Saint Vincent College, made two presentations and participated in a panel discussion at the Sixth Annual Lean Education Academic Network sponsored by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Alabama in Huntsville September 29 to October 1 in Huntsville.

    Dr. Dawn Edmiston, assistant professor of management and marketing at Saint Vincent College, has won the 2011 Marketing Management Association (MMA) Teaching Innovation Competition, sponsored by Wessex Press. She received the honor at the annual MMA educators’ conference in St. Louis.

    Internationally known novelist Horacio Castellanos Moya, author of ten novels, will serve as a visiting writer at Saint Vincent College Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Oct. 19, 20 and 21, during which time he will give a public literary reading, visit classes, conduct a master class with aspiring fiction writers and participate in other activities designed to enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of contemporary literature.

    Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will return for their second appearance on the Saint Vincent College Concert Series stage at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 in the Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center. Artists of the company will be dancing various Pas de Deux, accompanied by piano and recorded music. Artistic Director is Terrence S. Orr, and the pianist will be principal pianist Yoland Collin.
