About Seung (Ginny) Choi Ph.D.
Dr. Seung (Ginny) Choi is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the McKenna School. She joined Saint Vincent College in 2016, after the completion of her Ph.D. in Economics at George Mason University (Fairfax, VA). Dr. Choi’s research is in applied microeconomics, with a specialization in the design and analysis of economic experiments. Her primary interest is in social capital and sociality of markets. she seeks to better to understand how institutional features impact the formation of social networks in economic and social environments and, in particular, how social relationships shape and are shaped by economic interactions. While at George Mason University, Dr. Choi was a F.A. Hayek Fellow and a Dissertation Fellow at The Mercatus Center at George Mason University and at the Interdisciplinary Center for Economic Science. Dr. Choi received her M.A. in Economics from New York University (New York, NY) and her B.A. in Economics from Emory University (Atlanta, GA). Originally from South Korea, she received her primary and secondary education in Jakarta, Indonesia.
