The Vice President for Academic Affairs, the chief academic officer of Saint Vincent College, oversees the academic programs and supervises faculty and academic administration. The Vice President for Academic Affairs reports directly to the President and is a member of the President's council, the Student-Faculty Administration Board, the Educational Policies Committee, and the Committee on Rank and Tenure, among others. The Vice President for Academic Affairs convenes faculty meetings and supports the work of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors. The Vice President works with others to oversee existing academic programs in order to evaluate and improve them, as well as to plan new programs. The Vice President for Academic Affairs appoints faculty members and fosters their professional development. The Vice President supervises the Dean of Studies, the Deans of the Schools, the Library, the Office of Institutional Research, and is responsible for matters such as accrediation and program assessment. He/she supervises academic programs (such as the Honorm Program) common to the college as a whole and participates in planning for academic programs and facilities.
