Students who successfully complete the art studio major will have a solid background in the liberal arts and the fine arts, with particular emphasis on drawing, design, painting, sculpture and the history of art. While it is possible to begin work as a fine artist after having completed the program, it is recommended that graduates continue their artistic training by entering a master of fine arts program, accepting an apprenticeship under a working artist, or interning at a gallery or museum.
