    The Children's Studies Program

    • Enhance students' understanding of children from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
    • Provide a broad-based examination of childhood grounded in the tradition of the liberal arts.

    Requirements for Minor in Children's Studies: (18 credits)

    CA 281 Children and the Media
    ND 401 Project in Children's Studies

    At Least 11 Credits from the Following:
    ED 122 Curriculum Projects and Play for Young Children
    *EL 128 Children's Literature: Fables to 1900
    *EL 130 Children's Literature: 1900 to present
    HI 279 History of American Childhood
    SO 202 Sociology of Childhood
    TH 272 Theology of Children
    CA 381 Approaches to Research on Children and Media
    PY 312 Developmental Psychopathology

    * Students may count either EL 128 or EL 130 toward requirements for minor; not both.
