The Physical Therapy Allied Health Program

Students who are interested in Physical Therapy have several options at Saint Vincent.   The Physical Therapy cooperative program between Saint Vincent College and Duquesne University School of Health Sciences is a six-year doctoral program. Students complete a three year program at Saint Vincent and then martriculate to Duquesne.  Upon successful completion of the fourth year, students who have not already earned a Bachelor’s degree will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science – Allied Health from Saint Vincent College. Upon successful completion of the sixth year students will be awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duquesne University.  The Duquesne articulation agreement has SAT and college GPA requirements.

Students could also choose to stay at Saint Vincent College for four years and complete a Bachelor of Science degree in either Integrated Science – Allied Health or Biology.  Students could then choose to matriculate to Chatham University via our articulation agreement or apply to other professional physical therapy programs. Saint Vincent has an Allied Health Committee to help guide students through the requirements for PT schools.  Students will also have opportunities for internships in a variety of professional environments.
