My schedule this semester is totally boss. The class I am most excited about is Film Studies. All we do is watch movies for the first half of the class and then we proceed to the portion of the class where we talk about how awesome the movie was and even get a few bits of movie trivia thrown in there for kicks. That, my friends, is my kind of class. I can't believe Saint Vincent even offers a class that kicks this much butt, as most of my classes in previous semesters have bored me tears. I was beginning to lose faith in the college curriculum. Please do keep in mind that I probably have ADD and thus have to be entertained constantly so that my attention doesn't waiver. I, just in case you weren't aware already, am absolutely obsessed with movies. Just for you, I have complied a list of my top 5 favorite movies that if you don't see, you will probably decompose within 6 years- so just do it, see them that is! (These are in no real order) 1) Wristcutters- Plot: "A film set in a strange afterlife way station that has been reserved for people who have committed suicide." Tagline: Life is a trip, but the afterlife is one hell of a ride. 2) The Motorcycle Diaries- Plot: "The dramatization of a motorcycle road trip Che Guevara went on in his youth that showed him his life's calling." Tagline: Before he changed the world, the world changed him. 3) A Very Long Engagement- Plot: "Tells the story of young woman's relentless search for her fiancée, who has disappeared from the trenches of the Somme during World War One." Tagline: Never let go. 4) The Dead Poets' Society- Plot: "English professor John Keating inspires his students to a love of poetry and to seize the day." Tagline: He made their lives extraordinary. 5) Chocolat- Plot:A woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the rigid morality of the community. Tagline: One taste is all it takes. I'll share more later! Later!
