I would just like to write to you to let you know President Bush has vetoed H.R. 2082, the Intelligence Authorization bill, which would prevent the CIA from using waterboarding, sexual humiliation, dogs and other “cruel and unusual” techniques to acquire information and torture war prisoners. I am disgusted that the Bush administration can just disregard, and even approve of the way the CIA treats these prisoners. I applaud Congress for passing the bill in the first place, which restores human decency and my faith in humanity. Bush can continue to say that the US does not torture, but his veto of a piece of anti-torture legislation speaks louder than he ever could. Please contact your local newspaper or radio station to let them know this. We can’t make changes by sitting down! Get out there and do something!
