Hutchapalooza: Giving Peace a Chance

This blog is a shameless plug for my club. Not because I want people to join it (although I am not opposed to that), but only because these days it consumes my mind (and my schedule) and I can’t help but think that it’s a great asset to the St. Vincent community.

We’re planning this concert to help raise money for a family that has fallen on hard times. We’ve named it Hutchapalooza after the family. We managed to snag most of the very best talent here on campus to play at the concert. We currently have 3 bands and 4 individual musicians. If everything goes as planned, it should be a crapton of fun. It’s the planning part that is a killer. In planning this shindig, I’ve met people at this school who have jobs here that I never even knew existed. The official credit card guy and the general district cafeteria manager man and the Events and Conferences lady. Whoa Nelly, it’s been a crazy time. Meeting all the guys from the bands should be fun too. I only know a few of them.

Another upcoming event from my club is Spring Fest. My club managed to raise $1000 for a local woman’s shelter so 3 influential people on campus, Father Rene (everyone’s favorite father), Ben Chambers, Student Gov. Vice President and Dan Brett, Student Gov. President have offered up their faces to be pied in to celebrate our club’s ability to help out in such a big way. That’s on April 22.

Don’t forget to celebrate Earth Day by recycling, planting a tree or picking up litter. You should do that every day, but especially on Earth Day!
