When I was younger, I always admired the other kids at the lunch table who had Oscar Mayer Lunchables. If you aren't familliar with Lunchables, allow me to inform you. Lunchables are nifty little all-in-one, do-it-yourself kits that come with various slices of meat, crackers, cheese, or even pizza ingrediants. In my day, they were very popular. I think a tainted meat incident has since tarnished their reputation, though. In any case, I wanted desperately to have Lunchables in my lunchbox as a kid, but I always had a salami sandwich. Every day. I'm not dissing salami, I still eat salami sandwiches like a fiend. But Lunchables were my goal.
I've matured since gradeschool(at least a little bit) and so has Oscar Mayer. That company has developed a relatively new line of products that really tickles my fancy. They are called Oscar Mayer Deli Creations and are essentially adult Lunchables. They come in little boxes that you tear open to reveal all the individual ingrediants along with the microwavable tray. You then open each individual ingrediant, the bun, the cheese, the sauces, and of course the meat. Once you have crafted your sandwich, you put it on the tray and microwave it for a minute. One minute later you have a hot, fresh, delicious new friend just waiting to be devoured.
I'm working in a church office for the summer, so I'm left to my own devices for lunch. Deli Creations have finally allowed me to enjoy the lost childhood pleasure of Lunchables, if only a few years late.
