Back to School (for 2 and half weeks)

We're back to school, and instead of starting if off the right way with a good night's rest in my own bed, Ariel, Hayley and I spent the night on the floor in the Carey Center, in line for sign-ups for the Mystery Trip (you pay $60, you get on a bus at some unGodly hour of the morning, and you are shipped off to an unknown destination for the weekend). You see, we had originally planned on waking up at 5am and going over around 5:30 to stand in line for sign-ups at 8am. But we were walking out of 9:30 mass last night, and about 20 students were ALREADY camped out in front of the Campus Life Office. CRAZY people! So we ran back to Benny, got our stuff together for the night and classes in the morning, and camped out on the floor by 11:30pm. It was actually pretty fun, we had snacks and movies and our comforters and pillows. No one fell asleep until around 4am, so we only got about 3 and a half hours of sleep, when the rest of campus was awake and going to class and giving us weird looks because we were lying on the floor in the Carey Center. It ended up that we didn't really have to spend the night...we woke up this morning and there were only about 7 people after us in line, and the bus still wasn't filled early this afternoon. Sheesh. Oh well, it was all part of the mystery experience right? Now we get to leave at 3am Saturday morning! Maybe by Mystery Trip they mean "get-even-less-sleep-than-normal-for-a-college-student trip." We're thinking we might be going to Boston.

Best part of the 6 hour drive up to SVC: we found the oreo cows! You see, on Rt 711 there is a farm that has oreo cows...cows that are black, white, black, like an oreo - oh logic! But we've only seen them out once, and every time we drive by, camera ready (since no one ever know what we're talking about when we say oreo cow, and we need proof), they're never out. Well this time, we were able to document their existence! So now all will know that they exist.
