I Could Be Clever,

Hahaha! I am finally done with finals. I am done, done, done. Moreover, I am home! Home, where people not only feed me, but they do so for free. Home, where my bed is twice the size (and far closer to the ground) then the one I have accustomed myself to. Home…where I shall work my pale moderately sized rear off.

For you see, I am headed to Rome this summer with Campus Ministry (insert pause here as I do my interpretive “I am leaving the US” dance, which may or may not feature moves such as “making the pizza” and the “q-tip”). This then requires both funds to get there, get home, and eat while there. And as I am spending ten glorious days among my Italian brethren, that is ten payment free days of my summer. Which essentially means my Christmas break goals do include making enough greenbacks to cover food, my vacation time, and general spending money for while I’m here (tea does not buy itself, ladies and gentlemen).

Anyway, if you’re thinking “Hey, she said nothing about gifts. That jerk!”…well, then, you’re probably one of my friends. Actually, I prefer homemade gifts or random things of the nerdy persuasion more than anything else, so I have some serious crafting to get to in the next few days. The fine ladies I associate with are getting handmade pillows, but I fear I can disclose nothing else, as the boyfriend has a tendency to read this and I make it a mission to be as infuriating as possible.

All in all, I’m glad to be home. Finals week was rough—while I didn’t have any trouble figuring out my schedule, most of my tests were comprehensive beasts of academia. Also, I have a bone to pick with Food for Thought (did you catch the food pun?). For those not in the know, FFT is this amazing event that occurs during the week of finals. Basically, the cafeteria stays open ridiculously late and offers free food. This was great for the studying/relaxing, but they offered delicious meatball sandwiches AND ice cream. Yeah, I think I gained 4 pounds to go with the coveted 4.0. Sigh.

But now, I go off into the wide world of retail, as I spread literacy to the masses (I work at Borders, people). SVC, stay classy in my absence. I mean it.
