The True Tales of Easter Break

The days leading up to Easter break were super stressful, so I as quite glad to get home. Nothing like pasta and the people you love to restore balance to your life.

While I loved my break…I have to be honest. By the end of it, most of my friends and the boyfriend were gone, and my parents went back to work. After that, WashPa was pretty dull. The weather was depressing, I could not really run as I forgot my running shoes here at SVC (skills—I have ‘em), and I found myself watching a lot of Canadian television (Degrassi fans? Anyone?). All in all, I was glad to come back to St. Vincent.

Also, while I was home one of my friends dropped a bomb on me: she’s engaged. She’s estatic, the fellow seems lovely, but still…she’s a year younger than I am. This isn’t me pining for a ring here—it’s more like me realizing that my friends and I really are heading in different directions. None really better or worse…just different. It’s a harsh reality I’ve been trying to avoid, but now I’ve had to realize it. Anyway, I’m back here on campus, living in my slightly new dorm (my roommate has moved our furniture for what I believe is the fifth time), enjoying the fine weather, and getting my multitask on.

No, really, I have 24565894567643083.7 things to do this week. As such, I figured I’d end this post with a listing of them—that way, you fine people out there may see what college can be like, but only if you’re of the awesome persuasion.

1.) Hunt down the bands for HRO’s upcoming benefit concert.

2.) Study for my weekly Foundations test of doom. (Do NOT do this as a night class. Bad idea.)

3.) Write thank you notes.

4.) Do laundry, as a small band of elves may or may not have taken up residence there.

5.) Volunteer for Mr. Barak Obama, as he is the definition of everything I want for the future of America.

6.) Figure out why my left hamstring feels funny after today’s run. 7.) Work on lines for Shakespeare club.

8.) Work on props for Shakespeare club.

9.) Work on costumes for Shakespeare club.

10.) Find my passport for a) the Rome trip and b) possible getaway to save my sanity.

(P.S.—I may have stolen this list idea from Kylie.)

(P.S.S.--I may be fueled by peeps right now. And stress.)

(P.S.S.S--The photo is literally some of the giant crayons I made over break. Be awed.)
