Virus Scanners, 5 AM and Teeny Little Injuries

I have come to the conclusion that the only time that my virus scanner actually scans anything is the exact same moment that I want to do something on the computer quickly. I could be on the internet for two hours, but the second that I have to finish something up quickly is the same second that the scanner will start. Then the computer will go more slowly, and I try to pause it, but it won’t let me pause it, all I can do is cancel. So inevitably, I cancel, and forget about it entirely until it becomes annoying to me again. I can see the little symbol which indicates that the scanning is in progress in the corner of my screen fading on and off. It looks smug because it knows that I am being annoyed by it.

Well, I wish that I could say that my second week of work is over, but in fact, I have to get up tomorrow at 5 in the morning so that I can be at work by 6. I then get the privilege of working 5 more hours. Just what I wanted to do on Saturday morning. The good news is that I got my first paycheck this week, and it was rather nice. I may be able to continue to pay for college if I continue getting paychecks such as these.

One of the most annoying parts of my job, besides the long hours, standing on my feet all day, and the mind-numbing repetition, is the fact that I always have little nicks and scratches all over my hands and forearms from the boxes that I have to make. They catch your skin, and they rarely break the skin, but are normally like brush-burns, or in extreme cases like paper-cuts. (You have never experienced a paper cut until you have received one from cardboard. Well the moral of this story is, I have a red mark about half of an inch long on the back of my right hand about two inches beneath the base of my pointer finger. And I keep staring at it. As I am sitting here typing it keeps catching my eye. If I was right-handed, I would probably be staring at it any time I tried to do anything. I just want all of the marks on my arms to heal.
