So, summer moves on at a breakneck pace! Well, not really...a boring pace, in fact. Work work work work work, then weekends of awesomeness, then work work work work work. I was doing the retail indentured servitude almost as much while school was in session, but I don't think I noticed it as acutely as I do now because I had the wonderful distraction of classes. Now, though, with nothing to do but ship off to the timeclock each morning...I realize just how glad I am I finally got back into the swing of things, academically-speaking. While a life of pushing carts and/or running a cash register may be acceptable for some, it certainly is not for me. The people who do those jobs day in and day out for decades are, in my opinion, the real heroes of this country. I've been doing it for seven years now, and I think I can say with certainty it requires staggering willpower to face the drudgery of retail each morning. How I've survived it thus long is beyond me...only another three years! Sigh. In other news...where's the summer? It's been unseasonably cold for a Pennsylvanian May. Today was the first day in a while it was decently summer-esque. This time last year, I was just moving into my apartment, and it was unbelievably hot. I'd never experienced such scorching heat in May (I think it was close to 90). In Maine, we don't have any truck with summer weather until around the middle of June. Look at this, I'm reduced to talking about the weather. I'm going to go have a bowl of cereal, which may prove more interesting.
