Get Ready For Life….
Because of Saint Vincent
College’s comprehensive academic and personalized support services, students who
have not flourished at another college are routinely successful when they
transfer to Saint Vincent. You learn about life by living (and playing) in a
diverse community of students, faculty, staff and Catholic Benedictines, a
distinguishing feature of a Saint Vincent education. You do not have to be
Catholic to be comfortable at Saint Vincent. All you need is an open mind. The
Benedictines serve the college in many capacities – from cooks and clergy to
plumbers and professors. As a student of their scholarly, disciplined approach
to life, you are accepted unconditionally, challenged intellectually, nurtured
spiritually and taught, by example, to pursue a full life.
Benefits….
A typical class at Saint Vincent: you, a
small group of 10 to 20 classmates and friends, and your professor (who might be
a Benedictine!). Small classes with faculty who know their subjects, love to
teach and can offer you personal attention whenever you need it are the
essential elements of Saint Vincent College. We teach to individuals, not
lecture halls; yet offer all the sophisticated tools that students in the 21st
century need to succeed.
Admission Requirements
Applying…
- Completed application with $25 application fee. Apply
Online.
- Official high school transcript.
- Official college transcript(s) and catalogue that describes the courses
listed on the official transcript from the post-secondary schools previously
attended.
- File FAFSA by May 1 of entering year (for the most grant opportunities).
Evaluation….
- The official transcript evaluation and award of credit by Saint Vincent
College is made from official transcripts only.
- A minimum of a C grade is needed for a course to be considered for credit;
C- and below are not considered for credit. Not more than 90 credits may be
transferred from an accredited four-year institution.
- Not more than 62 credits may be transferred from an accredited two-year
institution.
- AP and CLEP exams are eligible for credit. Official scores must be received
for consideration.
The applicant’s academic achievement and personal history at post-secondary
schools attended are very important in the decision for admittance. Counselors
in Admission and Financial Aid are always available to evaluate transcripts on
request, even before applying, and although it is not required, a personal
interview is preferred. Also, through admission and financial aid, faculty
members are available for interviews, advice on courses and class scheduling
once you have applied.
Scholarships and Grants…
Transfer scholarships valued at
$1,500 are available to all accepted transfer students. Students may apply for
this and other financial aid, including grants, loans or work/study. Including
all sources of aid, Saint Vincent College’s average annual financial aid package
is nearly $14,000 per student.
Try Us On For Size….
- Schedule a personal interview and tour.
- Spend a day observing classes, meeting professors and touring the campus.
- Attend a Get
Acquainted Day with other prospective students. The day includes a
discussion of the Admission and Financial Aid process, an introduction to
faculty and staff and a tour of campus led by an upperclassman.
