The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants will award a $1000 scholarship for the 2006-2007 school year. The scholarship is being offered to help a qualified accounting major reach her/his goal of a degree in accounting. The PSPA is a professional organization with over 1300 members throughout the state, the Western Pennsylvania Chapter has over 160 members. Students interested in applying for the scholarship may download the application at: www.pspa-state.org/scholarships.aspx. PSPA is offering a minimum of three $1000 scholarships. Applicants may apply to both the PSPA and Western Pennsylvania Chapter of PSPA. Students eligible for the scholarship must be an undergraduate with at least 3 years of college and a declared accounting major with a maintained 3.5 (B+) average in accounting-related courses and in overall studies and must attend a Western Pennsylvania college or university and be a resident of the state. Although the award will be primarily on academic merit, student activities, leadership and financial need may be a consideration as well as the applicant being of good moral character.
