Pre-participation Physicals and Screenings
Ther have been a few changes for the pre-participation physicals and screenings for this year. Please read the following requirements carefully. If the requirements are not met, you will not be permitted to practice or compete until all information is received and all steps are completed.
- Each athlete is required to have a yearly physical examination and athletic screening prior to any participation in Saint Vincent intercollegiate sports.
- Physicals are performed by the athlete's primary care physician prior to mailing in your completed form and paperwork.
- Athletes must have proof of current health insurance coverage in order to participate in intercollegiate sports at Saint Vincent College.
- Completed forms along with a copy of front and back of current health insurance card must be mailed (see information below).
- If the athlete has had a recent surgery, illness or injury and was/is under the care of a medical specialist, please include a written release to participate in athletics from that specialist.
- Athletes will be given a date and time (see time table below) as to when their athletic screenings are to take place on campus.
- Athletes WILL NOT be allowed to participate in any athletic competition until their athletic screenings are complete and all information is on file in the athletic training office.
- The final decision on physical qualification or reasons for rejection is the responsibility of the Saint Vincent College team physician(s) and athletic trainers.
- The team physician(s) and/or athletic training staff also make the decision on when an athlete may return to competition after an injury.
