Ben spent last season on the varsity level for the Bearcats, and the big righty was used primarily out of the bullpen.  His role is expected to increase on the young Bearcat pitching staff.

2006: Made four appearances on the mound, including one start... Struck out nine batters in eight innings.

2005: Spent the season on the hill for the Bearcat JV squad

Personal: Born 8-5-85... Son of Keith and Patti Smith... Biology major with Secondary Education minor... Plans to go to medical school following graduation
