IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL RETURNING AND INCOMING BASEBALL CANDIDATES
Physicals & Screenings: Please read carefully on-line the new policy on physicals and health screenings. Go to Athletic Training, then click on Requirements for Athletic Participation and Medical Forms Download. This is a must if you are planning on participating in a sport. This must be completed prior to the first fall practice date. Do not wait until the week before school starts - take care of this now!!
Summer Classes: Any player who is or who has taken summer courses this summer, be sure that the transcripts are sent to the registrar's office at the college. If you are taking or have taken summer classes on campus, be sure to double-check with the registrar's office to be sure that your records have been updated accordingly. Again, do not wait on this. Do this now rather than later.
Academic Calendar:
- Move-In Weekend: August 23rd & 24th
- Classes begin Monday, August 25th
- Last day for adding courses: September 2nd
Fall 2008 Baseball Meeting: There will be a baseball meeting on Friday, August 29th, at 5:00 pm in the varsity team meeting room (second floor of the Carey Student Center). This meeting is mandatory for all player candidates wishing to tryout this fall. You are to bring with you the following items:
- A pencil, not a pen
- A copy of your class schedule for the Fall 2008 semester
- Your dorm room phone extension and/or your cell phone number
Again, the meeting will be held on Friday, August 29th, at 5:00 pm in the varsity team meeting room.
Insurance Forms: You will be receiving this in the mail shortly. This needs to be completed and mailed back to the Athletic Office. This form must be completed before you are able to participate!!! If you do not receive a form by the first week of August, contact Athletic Secretary Janice Vargo at (724) 805-2111.
Fall Program: It is imperative that everyone come into the fall season in the best baseball shape possible, especially your throwing arm(s). Remember, this is your tryout time!! Unlike in the past, we are now only allowed 16 practices during the fall season which means that you will not have as many opportunities on the field as in the past. This fall will be different than before. I cannot stress the importance of coming in being ready to go. We will do a lot of all-out throwing and each player will run the 60-yard dash. Competition for positions will be stronger than ever so make sure that you are ready to go.

Sincerely,
Coach Janosko
