The Bearcats' 13-game winning streak came to a close on the final day of the regular season, with a 85-63 loss on the road at Thomas More College. The Bearcats opened the game on the right foot, leading 5-2 in the early minutes. However, Thomas More went on a 12-point run and continued to play well throughout the first half. SVC struggled from the floor, and the Saints kept the Bearcats from getting second chances - SVC had only one offensive rebound in the first 20 minutes. Mike Watkins kept the Bearcats in the game with three blocked shots and as many three-pointers, his best showing since an 18-point performance in mid-November. Thomas More (10-15) led by as many as 14 late in the first half, before a pair of Joey Butler free throws cut the gap to 40-26 at the break. Saint Vincent cut the gap to eight early in the second half, but that was as close as the team would get, as the Saints continued to pull away throughout the remainder of the game. Joey Butler led the Bearcats with 19 points, while Watkins added 12, all from outside the arc. BJ McGill scored 10, while Mike Medved added 7. Saint Vincent finishes the regular season with a record of 21-4, and will await word the first week in March regarding a potential bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference postseason tournament.
