The Bearcats improved to 8-0 at home and 13-3 overall by defeating the Thomas More College Saints. The final score was 72-56. Thomas More took an early 4-3 lead, but Tre'sor Kalambay's second three-pointer in the games opening minutes put the hosts back on top, 6-4, and the Bearcats never trailed again. Romell Salone hit a three-pointer for Thomas More at the 15:30 mark to cut the SVC lead to 11-10, but the Bearcats then went on a 10-0 run over the next seven minutes, capped by a pair of buckets by Joey Butler. SVC cruised to a 38-23 halftime lead, then ran the lead to 22 after Andy Ostach, who was sprawled on the court after battling two defenders, somehow managed to find Mike Watkins in the pain for a layup to make the score 51-29. The Bearcats played well on both sides of the ball throughout the remainder of the contest, earning a 16-point victory. SVC (13-3) was led by the tandem of Joey Butler and Ian McCollough, who each scored 18 points and added four steals. BJ McGill added 14, and Tre'sor Kalambay tallied 10. Kalambay and Jim Ewing each had five rebounds, while McCollough blocked three shots. Thomas More (8-9) was paced by Salone's 8 points, all of which were scored in the first five minutes of the first half. Saint Vincent is back in action on Saturday night, hosting Westminster College at 8PM.
