Ian McCollough scored 31 points, pushing his career total over 1000, as the Bearcats downed visiting Westminster College at the Carey Center, 87-60. McCollough led the team on 14-of-21 shooting from the floor, and also grabbed ten rebounds. With just over six minutes remaining in the second half, he reached the 1000 point milestone on a layup. SVC started the night in fine fashion, opening an 11-0 lead on the Titans in the first four minutes. Two minutes later, Westminster closed the gap to nine, 16-7, but that was as close as the game would get. Thanks to crisp passing and a strong inside game, SVC continued to build the margin, taking a 38-25 lead into the break. It was more of the same in the second half, as Saint Vincent remained undefeated at home (9-0). The Bearcats (14-3 overall) received solid play from point guard Joey Butler, who scored 15 points, dished out 13 assists and had 5 steals. BJ McGill added 11 points, while Mike Medved scored 10, Tre'sor Kalambay tallied 9 and Jim Ewing, 8. McCollough's performance made him the 27th player in school history to reach the 1000 point plateau. Saint Vincent is back in action on Monday night, facing Penn State-Fayette at 7:00 on the road.
