Ad Club
The Advertising Club is a branch of the AAF (American Advertising Federation), where college chapters compete every year in a national competition. The competition is to create an advertising campaign for the chosen client of the year; this year’s client was Coca-Cola Classic. Each team must produce a 35-page plans book that maps out the campaign and they must also present an ad pitch to a panel of judges and in the pitch you discuss the campaign your team has created and how it is going to meet the needs of the client.
Alpha Lambda Delta
Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honors society for first-year students. Members must maintain a 3.5 QPA or higher and must be in the top 20% of their class during their first year or term in higher education. They are a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.

Alpha Phi Omega
Alpha Phi Omega is a national service fraternity with over 17,000 members, nation-wide. Its mission is to prepare campus and community members through service. Its purpose is to provide service, develop leadership skills, and promote friendship. It is a non-profit organization.
Anthropology Club
The Anthropology Club strives to provide an opportunity for interaction and sharing about anthropology as a field of study and as a career pursuit. They present and explain the perspectives and opportunities of Anthropology to those in the college community. They promote involvement of students in the field both on and off campus and would like to serve as a model for other colleges and universities.
BADD
Bearcats Against Destructive Decisions (BADD) is a spin-off club of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Students Against Destructive Decisions. This club encourages its’ members to help raise awareness of the dangers of destructive decisions such as drinking and driving, drug abuse, or any kind of physical abuse. They try to provide fun activities to do instead of engaging in these destructive behaviors. Activities include red ribbon week, occasional bowling nights, fun booth for Fall and Spring Fest, and other activities throughout the year.
Best Buddies
Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. They provide awareness and education about people with special needs.
Broadcast Club
The Broadcast Club, also known as “SVC Radio,” operates a campus radio/television station on one of SVC’s cable television channels. They teach the fundamentals of radio/television broadcasting to all members, including how to broadcast, how to run electronics, and how to interact with record companies. They participate in Fall Fest/Homecoming, Spring Fest, and any other community events.
Cheerleaders
The Cheerleading Club strives to promote school spirit, involvement of students, faculty, staff, and the community with sporting events. They also demonstrate good attitudes and sportsmen-like conduct. The Cheerleading squad is founded on the principles of honesty, community, dedication to service, ethical behavior, productive teamwork, and the development of the whole person.
Chemistry Club
The Chemistry Club’s main focus is to promote science at Saint Vincent College and in the community through numerous events on and off campus, such as celebrating National Chemistry Week. They also participate in community service projects, such as elementary school demonstrations. Members are able to enhance their own knowledge, as well as others’ knowledge of chemistry. All majors are welcome, especially any science majors. The main senior event includes fundraising to attend the ACS meeting and present senior research.
College Democrats
The College Democrats goals include supporting and instilling the values of political education and activism, voter registration, leadership, and community service to members of the club, students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We want to encourage the democratic spirit into people so that they can better participate and be a part of the democratic process in the United States and Pennsylvania. Examples of our activities include volunteering on political campaigns, voter registration drives, requesting absentee ballots, and fundraising for non-profit groups and military family support.
College Republicans
The College Republicans promote the principles of the Republican Party among the students at Saint Vincent College, while aiding in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government. They also try to help develop political skills and leadership abilities among Republican students as preparation for future service by them to the party and the community.
Commuter Club
The Commuter Club integrates the commuting population of SVC with the residents through social interaction and activities. They act as a community-oriented group, serving the needs of Greater Latrobe and surrounding areas through involvement in local service and community projects. They travel to local high schools to act as ambassadors to prospective commuter students.
Education Club
The Education Club includes all education majors and minors. They participate in campus activities as well as activities that involve school age students and children. The club holds two to three meetings per semester, which are used to brainstorm ideas for events and other activities in which students can participate.
English Club
The English Club is a group of people who enjoy sharing in literature and the arts. They promote open discussion, greater appreciation of our world through the creative visions of artists and authors, and recognize the power that the arts and literature have to influence our lives. They strive to go beyond simply “getting by” in life and try to appreciate it to the fullest extent possible through creative and intellectual expression. They strive to reach this goal through activities, such as the writing workshop, Speakeasy, the book crawl, and trips to museums and theatre performances.
Fencing Club
The Fencing Club’s ultimate goal is to bring a new interest in fencing to the students, as well as the community. They want to promote physical health and awareness and help in the development of sportsmanship, leadership, and organizational skills.

The Finance Club exists to promote financial education at SVC, help manage virtual and real portfolios, take field trips to areas of financial prominence, and other activities conducive to financial markets.

The Gilbert and Sullivan Players
The goal of the Gilbert and Sullivan Players is to present the comedic operettas of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Through their productions they hope to culturally enrich the community as well as to provide memebers with an artistic outlet by performing fully-staged operettas.

Global Experience Club
The Global Experience Club was created to give students the opportunity to travel to different countries during Spring Break for an “alternative Spring Break.” Every Spring Break, a group of SVC students completes a foreign business study tour. This unforgettable week abroad is the result of months of research and planning. Students are responsible for researching the chosen country, including history and culture, as well as planning the group itinerary. Past trips have been to London, Prague, Seville, Vienna, and Krakow. Students receive course credit for the club, and while it is run through the McKenna School, many past members have been other majors.

Habitat 4 Humanity
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Here at Saint Vincent College, they have partnered with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity to participate in fun and rewarding service projects, such as the Pumpkin Patch fundraiser and assisting regular Habitat volunteers in building houses for families in the community. They also participate in the Collegiate Challenge mission trip each year during Spring Break and strive to make a difference in the lives of others through our service to the community. Don’t be scared off by the misconception that “serving” isn’t fun; they share many laughs as a group and make lasting memories together as a club. History Club
The History Club is an organization where history majors, history buffs and all others with an interest in history can come share their common interests. The club does many activities throughout the year, including events to honor Veteran's Day, watching historical films and series, as well as work on various service projects. Students are afforded the chance to learn from their peers, share a common interest, and have fun through our club.
International Student Union
The purpose of the International Student Union is to help international students who come to Saint Vincent College. Students can meet new people, get help with classes, be informed of social security, and participate in events that are not limited to monthly meetings with food, trips into Pittsburgh, or ski trips. This helps the students adjust faster to the new environment and makes the college experience more enjoyable. Membership is open to all students who wish to participate and want to learn more about foreign cultures and/or meet new people.

The Italian Club provides all members of the Saint Vincent community with the opportunity to discover and deepen their understanding of what makes the Italian culture so special. Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in education and is dedicated in scholarship and excellence in education. The society is a community of scholars dedicated to worthy ideals. They promote the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices. They enhance the continuous growth and leadership of its diverse members. They foster inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues and maintain a high degree of professional fellowship.

Life Science Club
The Life Science Club dedicates itself to seeking out new and exciting applications for biology with which neither science majors nor others on campus may be familiar. They host many of the research seminars, faculty interviews, and lectures while carrying out many recreational activities such as biology movie nights and trips to Pittsburgh for personal research or to visit museums or nature reserves. The club was designed to explore science outside of what Saint. Vincent College already gives us as students.
Minority Student Coalition
The mission of the Minority Student Coalition is to expose the Saint Vincent and immediate communities to the uniqueness of other cultures through a number of different vehicles to enhance and enforce a newfound diversity initiative. With this intent, they hope to foster healthy multicultural relationships that ensure academic and lifelong success.

Mu Beta Psi
Mu Beta Psi one of the nation’s oldest musical fraternities, which includes men and women. Members of this organization are not required to be music majors; giving many students the opportunity to share their love for music.

Mythopoetic Society
The Mythopoetic Society functions as a forum for students to share the love of literature, myth, and storytelling. The focus of the society is on J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, but is far from limited to these authors. Society members are highly encouraged to bring and share their interests and works, which they have created for presentation to the society.
Pep Band
The Pep Band plans to perform at as many men’s and women’s basketball games as possible and works with the sound crews from the basketball teams to create a musical experience for the fans. They work with other clubs at the games, such as the Cheerleading Squad, so that many people may be involved with fan entertainment. They also attend and participate in all events set forth by the Student Government Association.
Physics Club
The Physics Club is for anyone who is interested in learning about physics. It is not just for physics majors, nor do you need to know a lot about physics to be in our club. They offer many opportunities for students from all majors to enjoy the wonders of science. Their activities range from movie nights and demonstrations of science to gazing at objects in space through telescopes. All are welcome and encouraged to join.

Pre Law Society
The Pre Law Society focuses on introducing students to the idea of what Law School can do for them, whether or not they are interested in a legal profession and helping those students decide if Law School is the correct choice for them. Pre Law Society involves its members in intellectual discussions about Law School life with Admissions Directors and other representatives from a variety of Law Schools while encouraging those students who are not involved in Pre Law Society to learn more about law and legal professions by engaging in law related movie nights as well as Spring and Fall fest.
Psychology Club The Psychology Club assists its members to develop an appreciation and understanding of psychological theory. They also believe it is important to help students develop the skills that are necessary for the application of theory to real situations through provided opportunities, such as observing and practicing. They like to promote a sense of cohesion among their members by sponsoring both academic and social activities.
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
The Public Relation Student Society of America is an organization formed by the Public Relation Society of America to help cultivate relationships between student and public relations practitioners. The student society exists to serve our members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities as well as to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared individuals.
Respect Life Club
The Respect Life club hopes to help foster respect for ALL human life. They work to protect all human life from the moment of conception to the moment of death. They do this through creating awareness of the pro-life movement and to be involved in it, as well. They recognize the dignity and value of all human life by providing opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote worldwide understanding and goodwill towards all people.

The Rotaract Club provides an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skill that will assist them in person development. They address physical and social needs of their communities and try to promote better relationships between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

The Sociology Club provides opportunities for interaction and sharing about sociology as a field of study and as a career pursuit. They strive to present and explain the perspectives and opportunities of Sociology to those in their college community. They also promote personal relationships and group activities through organizational activities and meetings, involvement of students in the dynamic field of sociology, and communication among department majors and between students and faculty of the department.
Student Council for Exceptional Children
The Student Council for Exceptional Children Club (CEC) exists to advance the education of individuals with exceptionalities and to promote related educational, scientific, and charitable purposes. Specifically, the chapter intends to assist and provide support to CEC in all its efforts on behalf of persons with exceptionalities, and to participate in all appropriate governance activities of the CEC subject to the general supervision and control of CEC.
Students for Social Justice
The Student for Social Justice Club educates the SVC community on the issues of current injustices, promote social awareness, and speak out against injustices. They provide an outlet for educated alternative viewpoints regarding relevant social issues, push for campus and community involvement, and encourage students to be educated in their own civil rights and social obligations.
Swing Dance Club
The Swing Dance Club exists to provide students with the opportunity to learn the talent of swing dancing. Each meeting is designed so members can learn and develop various skills related to dance. Besides holding meetings every week, the club also participates in local dances, competitions, and workshops in ballroom and Latin dancing. No experience is needed.
The Company
The Company Club offers opportunities for students interested in theater, music, and entertainment to become acquainted with one another. They hope to promote an appreciation for the art of entertainment and provide opportunities to perform in all-student-run productions.
Ultimate Frisbee
The Ultimate Frisbee Club fosters a sense of community and friendly competition at Saint Vincent College. Members of the club have the opportunity to enjoy the game of Ultimate Frisbee by playing with enthusiasm and excitement through pick-up games, tournaments, and other activities. Most importantly, the club strives to build long-lasting friendships with other students, both at Saint Vincent and from other institutions. They hope to spread the spirit of Ultimate Frisbee to others for the love of them game.

The Women in Business Club hopes to create an environment in the McKenna School of Business, in which students can join together regarding professional development. The organization works to confront the corporate world and personal women’s issues and offers support for the recruitment and retention of students and faculty to the McKenna School.
