The New Horizons Speaker Series is made possible through the efforts of the Saint Vincent College Office of Student Affairs in cooperation with Student Government Association and the First Year Experience Program. The new series is designed to present nationally recognized speakers who have distinguished themselves in a variety of fields. The mission of the series is to encourage the development of a balanced approach to a liberal arts education that seamlessly combines academic and student life. Previous speakers have included Joe Clark, subject of the hit movie "Lean on Me," Pat Toohey, former SEAL commander and presently working for the defense department on anti-terrorism efforts, Environmentalist Chad Pregracke, and Agent Candice DeLong, the FBI profiler who caught the Unabomber, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
