Career Services will be offering a Graduate School seminar entitled, “The Road to Graduate School: Navigating Your Way to Success,” on Thursday, April 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Saint Vincent College in the Carey Center Student Union. This event is in conjunction with a consortium of regional colleges and universities, including: California University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Seton Hill University and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and Johnstown.

This event is for students and alumni considering graduate or professional school. The event will be broken down into two sessions. From 4 to 5 p.m., Dr. Laura Patterson, assistant professor of English, coordinator of undergraduate writing programs, Seton Hill University, will discuss “Researching Graduate or Professional School,” and Christine Zuzack, director of financial aid at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, will speak on “Funding Graduate and Professional School.”

From 5 to 6 p.m. two sessions will run concurrently, addressing the topics of “Writing the Graduate/Professional School Essay,” featuring Dr. Dennis McDaniel, associate professor of English, director of freshman writing, and ‘General Test Taking Strategies,’ featuring Corinne Bechtel, Marketing Manager, Kaplan.  A networking session featuring hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will follow the formal part of the event.
