SVC Lacrosse
Carl Haas, Head Coach

Carl Haas was named Head Coach on July 1, 2009, following in the footsteps of Coach Peter Tulk, who retired after a decade at Saint Vincent.

Coach Haas joined the Saint Vincent staff as an assistant in 2008.  A native of Fairfax, VA, Coach Haas is a 2001 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute.  He was a four-year letterwinner on the lacrosse field for the Division-I program, and served as a two-year captain, while being named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.  He began his coaching career in 2003, serving as an assistant at Division-II St. Andrew's Presbyterian College in North Carolina before moving onto Roanoke College, which was one of the top programs in the nation during his tenure, compiling a 66-22 record between 2003 and 2007, earning a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference championships and three trips to the NCAA Division-III semifinals.  He coached three All-Americans, including the 2006 Division-II Defender of the Year and two-time All-American Ben Love.

Coach Haas can be reached by phone at 724-805-2262.  To e-mail Coach Haas, click here.

Vince Mangini, Assistant Coach

Coach Mangini is the elder statesman on the Bearcat coaching staff, as he has served as an assistant since 1995.  He began his playing career at Bethany College, and continued with the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Club.  Before coming to Saint Vincent, he spent three years as a head coach at Fox Chapel High School, where he led his team to a divisional championship as well as a second place finish.

Coach Mangini, a resident of Crabtree, PA, is a freelance writer, specializing in documentaries.

Chuck Holland, Assistant Coach

Coach Holland played midfield for the Bearcats from 1996-2000. A New Jersey native, he has worked camps and clinics around the country.

The third player in the schools history to reach the 100 career point mark, Chuck received the John Granish award in 2000, recognizing the student-athlete who made the most of their talents. After graduating, Chuck went on to play and coach in Perth, Western Australia for a year. US Lacrosse named him Assistant Coach of the year for high school lacrosse in South Carolina in 2007.

Chuck is also the Assistant Alumni Director here at Saint Vincent College.
