I look forward to greeting Saint Vincent College graduates and family members at the Baccalaureate Mass on Thursday, May 10 and the Commencement Ceremony and Reception to be held on Friday, May 11, 2007. This is the most joyful and momentous occasion of the academic year, and we hope that the 161st Commencement program will have special meaning for all who attend. Nearly 300 graduates -- the largest class in our history -- will take their places this spring, joining a long procession of Bearcats that stretches back through the years to the day in 1846 when Saint Vincent was founded by Abbot Boniface Wimmer. Saint Vincent College Chancellor Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B. has been notified that George W. Bush, President of the United States, has accepted his invitation to be our Commencement Speaker. So, we are making plans to accommodate the expected large group of graduates, family members and other guests. Past Commencement ceremonies have always been well attended, and with the record number of graduates receiving their diplomas this year, I urge everyone to make plans to arrive as early as possible. Please review the information on these special Commencement '07 web pages and check back frequently to be aware the latest information. I am proud of the achievements of the Class of 2007, and I look forward to sharing this important and memorable time with all of you. Sincerely,
|
