Saint Vincent Summer Theatre’s
next production is My Way “A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra,”
opening Thursday, Aug. 3, directed by Saint Vincent Producing Artistic Director Greggory Brandt.
“This newer musical revue features more than 50 songs recorded by ‘Ol’ Blue Eyes’ and is as warm and welcoming as a summer breeze,” Brandt commented.
The preview performance is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3. Regular evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 4 and 5, Tuesday to Saturday, Aug. 8 to 12 and 15 to 19. Matinees are scheduled at 2 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 6, 13 and 20 and Wednesdays, Aug. 9 and 16. There are no performances on Mondays, Aug. 7 or 14.
The show features Saint Vincent stage veterans Lara Hayhurst and Eddie Brandt and newcomers Allan Snyder and Blair Alexis Brown.
Hayhurst appeared in I Love a Piano and Lend Me a Tenor during the 2013 season and in Cole last summer. She has also performed in the national tour of Bye Bye Birdie. Her regional and New York theatre work includes Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Public Theatre as well as the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster and Stage Door Theatre in Fort Lauderdale.
Eddie Brandt made his Saint Vincent debut as “Jack” in Into the Woods in 2015 and returned as “Brandon” in Route 66 then later in Cole last season. He also appeared in the Broadway production of Annie Get Your Gun as well as the national tour of Les Miserables.
Snyder played on Broadway/national tours as “Buquet” in The Phantom of the Opera and as “Babet” in Les Miserables. He has also done The 39 Steps (CLO Cabaret Theatre), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Pittsburgh Musical Theatre) and Jesus Christ Superstar (The Strand Theatre) in Pittsburgh. A graduate of the New York University Tish School of the Arts where he earned a bachelor of fine arts in drama, he has also done regional theatre at the Goodspeed Opera House, Gretna Theatre, Welk Theatre, San Diego Musical Theatre, Barrington Stage Company, Gateway Playhouse, North Shore Music Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre and North Carolina Theatre.
Brown earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in acting and a minor in musical theater performance from Montclair State University. She has appeared in many New York Theater productions including City of Angels and First and Fairest and has also performed in many regional theaters across the country including Ogunquit Playhouse, The Broward Stage Door Theater and Music Theater of Connecticut.
Saint Vincent Summer Theatre patrons are asked to make ticket reservations in advance because seats are reserved at all performances except Thursday evening preview shows, which are general admission. Reservations may be made by calling the theater box office at 724-537-8900. Theatre patrons may also make reservations online by going to www.svst.org. A credit card is required for online reservations, and such reservations are transferable, but non-refundable.
Individual tickets are $15 for preview performances, $22 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, $25 on Friday and Saturday evenings and $18 for matinees. Special theatre party group rates apply to groups of 20 guests or more. Senior citizens, 62 or older, are eligible for a discount upon request on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings only. In addition, students and young artists tickets are available for $12 for any seat, any performance.
Saint Vincent Summer Theatre shows are all performed in the comfortable, air-conditioned Performing Arts Center of the Robert S. Carey Student Center on the Saint Vincent College campus. Free trolley shuttle service will continue to be provided to and from the spacious and convenient parking areas adjacent to the Saint Vincent Basilica.
Saint Vincent Summer Theatre will continue to feature its well-known Cabaret, the special after-the-show party to which all theatre patrons are invited. Saint Vincent students serve popcorn, hot dogs and beverages after the production and also provide entertainment. The cabaret is open after all performances except Thursday preview shows and matinees. Theatre officials encourage donations ($5 per person) if patrons enjoy themselves at the after-the-show party.
The next presentation of Saint Vincent Summer Theatre will be Showstoppers, A Broadway Revue, Oct. 6 and 7 (two nights only) at 7:30 p.m.
