Saint Vincent College has been awarded a silver Davey Award for its new web design because of its seamless appearance, visual content and mobile adaptability.

Just as David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock, the annual International Davey Awards honor the achievements of the “Creative Davids” among the design service agencies which derive their strength from big ideas rather than big budgets. The awards honor the best in web, design, video, advertising, mobile and social from small agencies worldwide.

The Davey Awards are judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of media, advertising and marketing firms.

AIVA members include executives from organizations such as Conde Nast, Disney, GE, Keller Crescent, Microsoft,, MTV, Push, Publicis, Sesame Workshops, The Marketing Store, Worktank, Yahoo! and others.

Saint Vincent College’s website was also recognized earlier this year by the 2017 WebAwards and given the “Outstanding Website” prize for its recent redesign.

Designed to engage the attention of prospective students, the updated Saint Vincent website was created in collaboration with the Kyle David Group (KDG) and launched on Oct. 6, 2016.

As one of the few colleges in the country to have Benedictine monks living, learning and worshipping in an Archabbey and Seminary which share the campus, the site captures this unique and welcoming environment in its newly-designed website. In addition to winning the “Outstanding Website” prize, the site was also one of three “Best in Show” nominees in the very competitive colleges and universities category.

The Saint Vincent web redesign project was led by Cindy Hoffman, director of web services, who served as liaison to KDG. Other project members included CIO Peter Mahoney, Roberto Wisnesck and Doug Carns of Information Technology along with vice president for marketing and communication Suzanne English, digital marketing specialist Jared Bundy and assistant director of marketing and communications Alex Byers.
