Three days of observances on Monday, Jan. 15, Saturday, Jan. 20, and  Tuesday, Jan. 23, featuring a memorial Mass, dream center, day of service, dinner and guest speaker are planned at Saint Vincent College to memorialize the late Martin Luther King Jr., the civil rights leader who was assassinated in 1968. The observance activities are scheduled so that Saint Vincent students and faculty who were on semester break will be able to participate.

All events except the evening program, which includes dinner, are free and open to the public. Tickets for the Jan. 23 program are required for entry. Attendees can make a reservation by email at MlkDay@stvincent.edu  or in person at the Campus Life Office in the Robert S. Carey Student Center during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Members of the Visionaries of H.O.P.E. and the Office of Multicultural Student Life will create a dream center in the lounge of the Carey Student Center, along with an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts and other activities.

Jan. 20 will be the day of service sponsored in partnership with the office of service learning. This will provide students, faculty, staff and others who choose to participate an opportunity to be involved in service projects around the Latrobe area. To register to participate, contact Jessica Parsons at 724-805-2288.

The Jan. 23 program will take place in the Fred M.
