SU 02 Alligator to Zebra: Adventures at the Zoo In this class,
students will meet animals from every part of the zoo and several letters of
the alphabet. Through various fun activities, we will learn about the
first letter of each animal’s name as well as characteristics of the animal
such as what it eats, where it lives, and special things it can do.

Ms. Bonnie Pratt is a sophomore Elementary Instruction
major from Erie, PA. She is the oldest of eight siblings and has enjoyed
many experiences working with children, including babysitting, teaching
Vacation Bible School at her parish, and assisting in an elementary classroom
during high school. Ms. Pratt enjoys singing, reading, traveling, and
spending time with family and friends.
SU 03 Diving Under the Sea This course will discuss various
characteristics of the sea. We will also talk about the kinds of animals
(Vertebrates and Invertebrates) and plants that live in the sea.
Some of the animals we will discuss include the starfish, seahorse, octopus,
dolphins, jellyfish, sea turtles, sharks, whales, manatees, sea coral, and
seaweed. There will be an activity that goes along with each animal we
discuss.

Ms. Laura Marino is a junior at Saint
Vincent College. Besides being a twin, she has four other siblings. Ms.
Marino enjoys working with children and playing volleyball and
basketball. She is volunteer
head coach for the Girls’ Basketball team for Latrobe Recreation and the 6th
grade girls’ volleyball team at Aquinas Academy in Greensburg. In
addition, she also works as a part-time care giver for a small family in Latrobe.
This job requires her to arrive at the family’s house in the morning to get the
children ready for school and on the bus. Ms. Marino also works at
the Four Points by Sheraton as a banquet server.
SU 04 Time Travel
through the Year in 10 days! Students will travel through the calendar year
visiting all four seasons in just 10 days. Students will participate in
various activities related to the season with arts and crafts, songs, physical activities
and an occasional party.

Hello time traveler! Your teacher
is Mr. Jeff Hite and he invites you to join his mission.
Mr. Hite lives in Greensburg with his wife and boxer named Gigi. After graduating from Greensburg
Salem High School in 2002, Mr. Hite attended Duquesne University for two years
and then the Pittsburgh Institute
of Mortuary Science where he earned his funeral directors license.
Mr. Hite is now completing an elementary teaching certificate at Saint. Vincent
College to fulfill his dream of working with kids. He is a member of the Cross Country and Track teams on
campus, and enjoys all sports, outdoors, and love the beach.

SU 05 Geometry
in Your World This course
will help to encourage creativity with students by thinking outside the box
with geometry. Students will learn shapes through hands-on activities and
projects. Some classroom activities include looking at pictures, scavenger
hunts, sports and games. If
weather permits, the students will observe objects outside the classroom - in our environment.

Ms. Brenda Hartman is a junior at Saint Vincent College
majoring in Mathematics and Secondary Education. She has worked with preschool-aged
children and completed one-on-one tutoring with a middle school-aged student
for her Senior Class Project. She was also secretary of the German Club,
a member of SAAD, and captain of her high school cross country and track teams,
on the honor roll and received the scholar athlete award. In addition, she enjoys running, working
at a restaurant back at home, and spending time with her family - especially
her nephew.
SU 06 What Do You Know about Soccer? This course will teach students the fundamentals of soccer.
Throughout the course, students will gain knowledge of the sport, while
learning fun games and tricks to perform. The students will learn fun facts and
will have the opportunity to go outside, towards the end of the course, and use
what they’ve learned.

Mr. Alex Lardin is a junior at Saint Vincent College
majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education. He has enjoyed
volunteering at the Sylvan Learning Center, where he tutored students of
various ages in math. He is a member of the Saint Vincent Bearcats soccer
team and enjoys playing all sports. In the summertime, he worked on campus for
the events and conferences center. In addition to his activities, he enjoys
spending time with his friends and family.
SU 07 You’ve Got the Beat! This introductory dance
course will allow students to learn how to express themselves through their
movements. A combination of jazz and ballet will be taught.
Students will also learn basic dance terminology along with the moves. At
the end of the session, a small performance will be held to show what the
students have learned in class. Dress for the class must be comfortable
clothing that is easy for the student to move in. It would be helpful,
but not necessary for students to have a pair of ballet shoes to make movement
easier. (These shoes can be purchased at Payless Shoe Stores for approximately
$16.)

Miss
Abrey Suscovich is a senior at Saint Vincent College majoring in Elementary
Instruction with an Early Childhood Certification and Psychology minor. Some of
Miss Suscovich’s experiences with children include student teaching two dance
classes at the studio in which she had danced for 10 years. Miss
Suscovich also helped teach Sunday School classes at her church for a few years and
worked at a day care. Miss
Suscovich has volunteered at a local elementary school assisting a
kindergarten class and is actively involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters.
She is currently doing her Pre-Student teaching. In her spare time, Miss
Suscovich enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

SU 08 Are We There Yet? This course
will teach students about geography and map-reading. The course will
cover a brief overview of the art of map-reading and will help students to understand simple maps. Each student will also have the
opportunity to create a map of his/her own. After this course, students
will never be in the back seat of the car asking, “Are we there yet?” ever
again! Just hand them the
map!

Mr.
Ryan Deglau is a senior at Saint Vincent College majoring in History with a
minor in Secondary Education. He has enjoyed working with such groups as
the Boy Scouts, Mingo State Park Observatory, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on
Wheels, and various local organizations. He studied abroad at the
University of London in London, England while studying Roman History and Greek
Archaeology. He has a passion for history, culture, art, and people of
all ages.
SU 09 Folk
Characters and Legends:
This course is designed to introduce folk characters important to the
history of the United States. Such
characters include Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, and Daniel Boone, among
others. Students will gain
knowledge about each person and their contribution to United States history,
and will discuss how each person experienced fame beyond their actual
abilities.

Ms. Lisa King is a senior at Saint Vincent College,
majoring in Elementary Education. She has enjoyed working with children in
several childcare programs through her church, as well as providing babysitting
services to a family with a child with special needs. Ms. King spends her free
time traveling and visiting historic sites, and enjoys spending time with her
family, friends, and pets!
