The Center for Economic and Policy Education works closely with the departments of Economics, Political Science and Public Policy to help students obtain internships and other advanced scholastic opportunities. A sampling of the programs and internships our students have received since 1992 are given below:

2004

  • Ed Wodarczyk served as an intern for Senator Rick Santorum.
  • Jennifer DeFino completed an internship for United States Trade Representative Robert Zoellick.
  • Alex Hindman worked for State Representative Dave Reed via Pennsylvanians for Effective Government.
  • John Casale interned with the Heritage Foundation.
  • Laura Krulikowski served as Campaign Manager for Jeff Pyle, State Representative for the 60th District.
  • Chris Jackson interned at the Journal of Economic Literature.

2003

  • Bill Berish interned with the Heritage Foundation.
  • Donzell Brown studied at Magdalen College through Oxford Study Abroad.
  • Chris Jackson interned with the Journal of Economic Literature.

2002

  • Gouled Miganeh interned with the Heritage Foundation.
  • Christopher Jackson served as assistant to Assistant Editor while interning at the Journal of Economic Literature.
  • Donzell Brown interned with USTR Robert Zoellick.

2001

  • Alex Hindman interned at the Office of District Attorney, Clearfield County.
  • Donzell Brown interned at the Trans-African Aid Organization in Washington, D.C.
  • Matt Richardson attended an Institute sponsored by the Fund for American Studies and interned with Marzulla & Marzula, Defenders of Property Rights.
  • Robert Tallerico studied in the Washington Semester Program at American University and completed an internship with the Heritage Foundation under David Cole.
  • John Naugle interned with the Heritage Foundation.
  • Sean Burke interned at PERC.

  • Jeremy Dalletezze attended PERC's Summer Seminar on Free Market Environmentalism in Bozemann Montana.
  • Amand Madar worked for Kirkpatrick and Lockart as a law clerk.
  • Brandy Kovac worked for Quaker Capital Management.
  • Peter Evans attended the Fund for American Studies.
  • Eric Kunkle interned with the Center for Economic and Policy Education.
  • Louise Cossaco interned with the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.

1999

  • Nick Racculia interned with the Heritage Foundation in Washington D.C.
  • Joseph Polka interned with the CATO Institute in Washington D.C.
  • Richard Kessler interned at the Center For Economic and Policy Education and also attended PERC's Summer Seminar on Free Market Environmentalism in Bozemann Montana.

1998

  • Ronald Baker and William Karazsia participated in the Spring 1998 FEE conference.
  • Richard Kessler interned with the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.
  • Eric Kowlaski and Jennifer A. Miele both participated in PERC's summer student seminar on Free Market Environmentalism. Eric also received a $1900 scholarship from the Fund for American Studies to attend the 1998 International Institute for Political and Economics Studies in Athens, Greece.
  • Nicholas Racculia interned with the Center for Economic and Policy Education.

Robert McBride received the Carol Pollock and Harold Grey Fellowship in Economic-Botany Studies. He spent the Summer of 1998 studying free market solutions for Rain Forests at PERC. The Carol Pollack and Harold Grey Fellowship is directed by the Center's Fellow in Economics and Policy, Dr. Andrew R. Herr. This fellowship is designed for Saint Vincent College Economics majors or minors with a strong interest in pursuing graduate degrees in the area of environmental and natural resource economics. The purpose of this fellowship is to encourage research into the economic value of tropical rain forests. Recipients of this fellowship will be required to complete a scholarly research project on the economic value of tropical rain forests, focusing on medicinal and biodiversity values. The fellowship will be used to cover the cost of this research. In return, the recipient will be required to present the findings of his or her research to the Saint Vincent community.

1997

  • Matt Halloran interned at the Heritage Foundation with William Beach and John Barry.
  • William Garrett and Matt Halloran partcipated in the Foundation for Economic Education Spring Program.
  • Robert McBride recieved the Charles G. Koch Foundation Fellowship($1500, housing, airfare, books) offered by the Center for Market Processes. Mr. McBride also interned with the Citizens for a Sound Economy and was one of thirty-two others chosen for the internship.
  • Ron Baker interned at the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.
  • Troy Ovitsky received a full scholarship to PERC. s Free Market Environmentalism seminar at The University of Montana.
  • Eric Kowalski studied at The Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems.
  • William Karazsia received the Sons of Italy Foundation Scholarship of $13,000 to attend the John Cabot University in Rome.

1996

  • Louis Melocchi interned with the Bryce Harlow Institute on Business and Government Affairs with a $500 Scholarship from the Fund for American Studies at Georgetown University.
  • Jason Farabaugh received a full scholarship to PERC. s Free Market Environmentalism seminar at The University of Montana.
  • Amy Sikora interned at the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.

1995

  • Kevin Kane interned with Pearson & Pipkin law firm in Washington D.C., and also attended for six weeks The Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political Systems with a full scholarship.
  • Adam Gasper was awarded a full scholarship to PERC. s Free Market Environmentalism seminar at The University of Montana and received a paid internship with Allegheny Investment.
  • Gregory Thome interned with the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.

1994

  • Grant Gulibon interned with the Philip M. McKenna Foundation and attended the Foundation for Economic Education Spring Program.
  • Gregory Loya interned at the Center for Economic and Policy Education.
  • Jennifer Klimko attended the Foundation for Economic Education Spring Program.

1993

  • Greg Loya interned at the Philip M. McKenna Foundation.
  • Grant Gulibon interned at the Center for Economic and Policy Education.
  • Robert Baldini attended the Foundation for Economic Education Spring Program.

1992
