Dr. Thomas Cline of the McKenna School and Dr. Antony Davies are the co-authors of a paper entitled "A Consumer Behavior Approach to Modeling Monopolistic Competition" in the June 2005 issue of the Journal of Economic Psychology. The paper integrates research on consumer information processing and the consumer choice process with the goal of proposing a general framework for modeling consumer behavior in monopolistically competitive industries. The authors used propositions to explain classic cases of consumer behavior observed in the beer, ice cream and automobile industries.
