Fr. Thomas Hart, O.S.B., chair of the Religious Studies Department, was invited to give a workshop on the Gospels for the Diocese of Little Rock Lay Leadership program Dec. 3 and 4. Arkansas has no Catholic institution of higher learning in the entire state, so the diocese invites teachers from around the country to offer intensive weekend programs in Scripture and Theology. The Catholic population in Arkansas is about 3% of the population. In addition to the New Testament Gospels, the participants also expressed keen interest in the apocryphal Gospels such as Thomas and Mary Magdalene.
