Dr. Kristin Harty, assistant professor of education, presented "School District and Higher Education Collaboration: Improving the Reading Abilities of Students" at the International Conference for the Council for Exceptional Children April 6 to 8. Dr. Harty and her colleague, Dr. Kathryn Bell from West Virginia University, presented results of a study they were involved with that improved the reading abilities of students in grades K-2.
She is also second author of a paper presented at the American Educational Research Association annual conference being held in Montreal, Canada on April 12. Her colleague, Dr. Rollanda O'Connor from the University of California-Riverside, will be presenting "Response to Treatment as an Early Indicator of Learning Disability."
