Doubletree Farms

Saint Vincent College leases facilities and horses for weekly lessons at Doubletree Farms.  Doubletree is a private, historical, working hay and grain farm. The riding facilities and horses are provided to solely support the equestrian program. There are no boarding facilities at Doubletree.

In addition to the restored schoolhouse, the miles of wooded trails lead riders by lakes, ponds, hilltops, and a 1700 log cabin.  These trails are kept to allow riders to enjoy nature and the environment while relaxing on horseback.

Doubletree Farms is located on 205 acres in New Alexandria, PA. The farm is 100% original and dates back to the mid 1800s.  The farm is home to the only remaining historical building in Loyalhanna Township, the Concord Schoolhouse.  The schoolhouse was built in 1848 and was in use until 1953.  It currently is a fully restored school museum.

The farmstead also has a 300x200 ft. grass riding and driving-sized ring that offers the club & team space for lessons and instruction.  Hitching rails and tack areas are also provided.

Since Doubletree Farm is a private residence, visits to the farm are by appointment.  Students wanting to visit the farmstead at times other than during scheduled lessons should contact Dr. Ent to arrange an appropriate time.
