Over 300 spectators packed the upper athletic fields at Saint Vincent College to take in the annual Bearcat Football Strong Man Competition.

The entire Bearcat football team participated in the event, which pitted the team's offensive players against the defensive players, and the competition came down to the final event, with the Bearcat offense narrowly winning the title.

Five different competitions were held during the day, which started with the Tire Flip, where contestants flipped a tire over a 100-foot course in the fastest time possible.  The team's heavyweights had to handle a 550-pound tire, while the lightweights used a 330-pound tire.

The next event was the Conan Walk, where the participant carried a two-inch diameter pipe, with weight, for as much distance as possible in 60 seconds.  The Carry and Drag followed, where the athlete carried weight for 50 feet, and then dragged a sled 50 feet, with the fastest finisher earning the win. 

The Farmers Walk had participants carry weight on a 150-foot course as fast as possible, before the day's final event, a Tug of War pitting the offense and defense against one another.  The offense entered the final event trailing the defense, but won the Tug of War to win the title by one point.

Sophomore fullback Joe Yezovich won the Heavyweight title, finishing in the top three in all four events.  Freshman linebacker Armando Fortunato won the Lightweight division, while freshman tailback Jairus Marlow won the Fastest Man race.
