Saint Vincent College seeks applications for two full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in Education with teaching certification and experience in middle–grade elementary (grades 4-8) or early childhood or social studies instruction or educational psychology.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Education and teaching certification (ABD near completion considered). Responsibilities include excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will engage actively in collaborative service to the college, Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media, and to the department. A minimum of five years teaching experience or equivalent needed. Successful college teaching experience and a commitment to continuing scholarly activity is preferred, or applicants must have evidence of potential for college teaching excellence and research productivity. Eligibility for Pennsylvania Act 151 (child abuse) and 34 (criminal record) or FBI clearances must be established prior to employment.

Duties: Graduate and undergraduate teaching in area of expertise. Additional expectations include building strong partnerships with schools and communities; student teacher supervision; developing new courses; advising; producing scholarship within area of expertise, pursuing professional development activities; and contributing to a department with a strong vision. Candidates are also expected to contribute service to campus and community.
