The Common Data Set Initiative is a collaborative effort between publishers and the educational community to standardize data definitions and data elements commonly used in surveys and rankings of higher education institutions. The objectives of this standardization initiative are to reduce the time and effort spent by data providers and to improve the quality and comparability of the resulting information.
