Technical Assistance
The Help Desk provides technical support for student computers. This support includes:
- Helping students connect their computers to the network.
- Virus removal
- Hardware diagnostics
- If your computer is in warranty, we cannot repair any hardware problems; however, we will run the necessary diagnostics and assist you in contacting your computer manufacturer.
- Software Installation
- For legal reasons, we can only install software from the original media with the original serial number that was included with the purchase. Copies of the media or serial number will not be accepted.
- Restoring Network Policy Compliance
- If a student's network connection is disabled due to network policy violations, the computer must be processed by the Help Desk before network access will be restored.
The length of time necessary to complete work on a student computer varies; however, most computers are returned within 3 to 5 business days. Students can use any of our public computer labs until work on their computer has completed.
