Instructions

An important message regarding Voicemail :

When setting up your voicemail box it is important that you follow the instructions to the end where it asks if you are satisfied.  You must press 1 for yes or it will not complete the process. 

To check your voicemail from off campus dial 724-805-1488.  If you'd like to retrieve your messages from another telephone on campus, dial 1488 and follow the instructions.

Should you be sharing your phone with other individuals and wish to receive your messages you may also dial 1488, then 9 plus your extension number. You will then be prompted for your password.

Mitel Superset 4025 features and instructions

To begin dialing, you do not need to press the key by your extension.  Simply dial the number, don’t forget the 9 first if your calling off campus.

CALL-FORWARDING:
Yes

ALWAYS?   Press Review

Press Program and add the phone number you want your calls to go to.

Press SAVE

Press Change

Press TurnOn.  An asterick will appear next to the number. 

You may also forward your phone in these cases: 

B-INT?   Refers to Busy on internal calls only.
B-EXT?  Refers to Busy on external calls only
NA-INT?  Refers to No Answer for interal calls
NA – EXT?  Refers to No answer for external calls

To Turn Off Call Forwarding

Press the Superkey

Call Forwarding - Press Yes

Press Review

Press Change

Press TurnOff 

PERSONAL KEYS

RINGER ADJUST

ADJUST PITCH?  Distinguishes the ringing from other telephones by its sound.

Adjust pitch by pressing the up/down arrows located above the keypad.

Adjust volume by pressing the up/down arrows located above the keypad.
  
Any features listed after RINGER ADJUST are specialized applications which do not apply in most circumstances.

Trans/Conf

To Transfer a Caller to another person:

Press the Trans/Conf Key then the extension.  Announce the call and hang up. 

To Transfer a voicemail to another persons voicemail: 

While listening to the message, press 39, then the extension + *, immediately hang up.  This will transfer this message to the person's voicemail box. 

If you want to transfer a caller to the voicemail box of someone that is on the telephone:
Press the Trans/Conf Key then dial 1000, wait for voicemail to answer, dial the extension, then the * button.  Immediately hang up so that the caller hears the entire greeting.

Redial

Self explanatory
 

Cancel

This key cancels a connection.  For example, if you attempt to transfer someone and you realize you dialed the wrong extension, you can press Cancel to get back to the caller.

Speaker

This key is used when you want to place a caller on speaker, rather than use the handset.
It is also used to disconnect a call when the speaker is in use.

Microphone

Serves as a Mute button.

Contact Lori at x2382 with any questions you may have with your new telephone.

 

Students are required to provide their own telephones for all Resident Halls.  You must dial a 9 to place calls off campus.

All calls made off campus must be placed with a calling card or  cell phone

To report a problem with your phone line:

  1. Dial x2492.
  2. Provide a detailed description of the problem, your name, room number, and extension.
  3. IS will place a service call with Westmoreland Telephone,  if the trouble is in the phone line.
  4. DO NOT bring your telephone to Information Services.  Your telephone is your responsibility.

Troubleshoot first:

  • Phone rings too low: check the volume control on your telephone.
  • Static is usually the cord or handset
  • No dial tone: Unplug the telephone from the jack, and plug it in again.

 

To access your mailbox from off campus :

Dial 724-805-1488
Press 9 then your extension
Enter your security code

Quick Message Action

Repeat the message

Delete the message while its playing

Archive a message

Hear when the message was sent
