Dr. David Grumbine, assistant professor of physics, along with his colleagues at Villanova University Alain J. Phares and Francis J. Wunderlich, have just had their paper, “Monomer Adsorption on Terraces and Nanotubes” accepted for publication in the journal Langmuir.

Mathematics professor has problem accepted for publication

Dr. Michael Botsko, professor of mathematics, has had a problem and solution accepted for publication in the refereed journal Mathematics Magazine. This work will appear in December 2006 and involves a sufficient condition for the uniform convergence of a sequence of bounded functions on an arbitrary set of real numbers.

Saint Vincent College receives Impact Award

Saint Vincent College received its second Impact Award from Junior Achievement June 15, recognizing student involvement and efforts to inspire area youth to gain a better understanding of Business, Economics and Free Enterprise. Saint Vincent was one of four colleges to receive the award, acknowledging schools and organizations that provided six or more Junior Achievement lessons to their community.

The Oblates of Saint Benedict affiliated with Saint Vincent Archabbey will meet at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, in Brownfield Room 202 of Saint Vincent Seminary. The topic of discussion will be “Words,” based on the Chapter 27 of the book Benedict’s Way, with emphasis on gentleness, silence and avoidance of murmuring.
